AVIGNON KITCHEN

L’ispirazione
La nuova cucina Avignon è frutto della collaborazione con Nicola Gallizia e propone un
concetto di scomposizione dello spazio e di sistemi aggregativi che guardano oltre la
razionalità industriale.
Un tributo culturale all’opera di Pablo Picasso “Les Demoiselles d’Avignon” che presenta
in modo visionario una simultaneità di punti di vista differenti e introduce un nuovo modo
di concepire la realtà.
La destrutturazione dello spazio e delle funzioni costituisce il filo conduttore di Avignon.

Il progetto

La composizione della cucina Avignon che sarà presentata a Eurocucina 2022 è lineare
con isola e tavolo ad essa integrato.
Due i materiali protagonisti di Avignon: legno di Eucaliptus Frisé utilizzato per tutte le
ante e i frontali dei cassetti, marmo Dover White per i piani, gli schienali, il fronte
dell’isola e per la vasca preassemblata.
La pregiata essenza di Eucaliptus Frisè verniciato opaco, proveniente da specie legnose
certificate FSC e lavorate con un processo di tintura privo di coloranti sintetici, manifesta
le piccole increspature delle venature regolari e parallele quando la luce si infrange sulle
superfici. Il marmo Dover White è caratterizzato da forme fluide e sinuose nei toni del
grigio e del bianco latte.
Il fronte dell’isola rivestito in marmo Dover White presenta elementi a giorno e cassetti in
legno Eucaliptus Frisé che creano un movimento armonico di volumi, rientranze e
materiali.

La cifra stilistica del progetto risiede nel numero 7,5 che esprime gli importanti spessori in
centimetri del piano del tavolo, di top e schienali, nonché delle grandi maniglie, poste
ora orizzontalmente ora verticalmente su ante e frontali.
L’innovazione assoluta di Avignon risiede nell’aver integrato in modo invisibile funzioni
aggiuntive, oltre a quelle classiche, che assecondano modalità contemporanee di vivere
gli spazi rompendo gli schemi rispetto al passato.
Il tavolo ancorato all’isola si decompone in tanti volumi integrati all’interno delle
gambe e consente una fruizione differenziata diventando, alternativamente o
contemporaneamente, luogo di aggregazione e convivialità, di lavoro, di gioco e di
entertainment.
Ciascuna funzione può essere attivata svelando, tramite un meccanismo elettro-assistito
con controllo tramite un’app dedicata, volumi nascosti: un volume HomeOffice che
consente di riporre portatile, mouse, tastiera, taccuini, penne oltre ad essere
equipaggiato con prese e porte USB; un contenitore PlayGround con alloggiamento per
game console, tablet, attrezzatura da disegno; un saliscendi Convivio che contiene
accessori per cocktail, bicchieri e bottiglie.
L’isola ospita due volumi nascosti che fuoriescono dal piano a comando: uno contiene un
monitor che può ruotare fronte tavolo o fronte isola, l’altro collocato accanto al piano
cottura è studiato per riporre un’ampia libreria di spezie e utensili da cucina.
La cucina Avignon rispecchia la filosofia di TM Italia nel coniugare dettagli di alto
artigianato con un approccio progettuale evoluto, che propone integrazioni tecnologiche
e nuovi scenari estetico-funzionali.

The inspiration The new Avignon kitchen is the result of the partnership with Nicola Gallizia. It offers a concept of space division and combined systems that look beyond industrial functionality. A cultural tribute to Pablo Picasso’s “Les Demoiselles d’Avignon”, with its visionary way of showing different perspectives simultaneously and introducing a new way of seeing reality. The “breaking up” of space and functions is the underlying theme of Avignon. The design The Avignon kitchen, which will be presented at Eurocucina 2022, is linear in composition with an island and integrated table. There are two main materials used in the Avignon: Eucalyptus Frisé wood for all the doors and drawer fronts and Dover White marble for the worktops, backsplashes, the front of the island, and the pre-assembled basin. The premium Eucalyptus Frisè wood, painted opaque, sourced from FSC-certified species of wood and treated with a staining process free from synthetic dyes, reveals tiny ridges of regular, parallel veins when light hits the surface. The Dover White marble, with its strong personality, features liquid and sinuous shapes with flows of grey and milky- white tones. The front of the island, clad in Dover White marble, features open elements and drawers made of Eucalyptus Frisé that create a harmonious movement of shapes, recesses and materials. The stylistic signature of the design is the number 7.5, which represents the considerable thickness in centimetres of the tabletop, top and back panels, and the large handles, placed either horizontally or vertically on doors and fronts. The real innovation of the Avignon is the invisible integration of extra features, in addition to conventional ones, which embrace contemporary ways of living while breaking the mould of traditional design. The table attached to the island breaks down into many elements built into the legs . It allows for differentiated use, becoming, alternatively or simultaneously, a place for gathering and conviviality, work, play and entertainment. Each function can be activated by revealing hidden elements through an electro-assisted mechanism with remote control: a HomeOffice component that accommodates a laptop, mouse, keyboard, notebooks, and pens. It also features USB slots and ports; a PlayGround element with space for a game console, tablet, and drawing tools; and an Convivio extractable unit, holding cocktail accessories, glasses and bottles. The island houses two hidden units that emerge from the main worktop: one contains a monitor that can rotate to face the table or the island. The other located next to the hob is designed to store an extensive collection of spices and kitchen utensils. The Avignon kitchen reflects the philosophy of TM Italia in combining finely crafted details with an advanced design approach, offering technological integrations and new aesthetic-functional solutions.
